Background Information:

If you’re an adventure seeker who enjoys a physical challenge, then the Crystal Cave Tour is for you.  The Mountain Cow Cave as it known as, is located in the inland Blue Hole National Park on the Humming Bird Highway. It is a dry limestone cave that has been formed by water erosion and is unique for its countless attractions of Mayan artifacts, human remain, stalactite and stalagmite and its crystalline formations that reflects shimmering colors.

The tour commences at 7am with a 1.5-hour scenic view from San Ignacio to the Blue Hole National Park. When we arrive at the park, we will gear up and hike for 45-minute into the tropical forest to the entrance of the cave which is located on a mountain top. We then repel 15 feet into the hollow cave entrance, as we venture further into the cave, we will see sparkling formation, countless stalactites and stalagmites, Mayan pottery, ancient artifacts and human remain. Be sure to listen to the techniques given by your guide to make your tour easier and more fun. This experience comes with a little of everything from walking, sliding, crawling and climbing, that’s what makes it a fun and challenging tour.

After completing the Crystal Cave tour, you have an option to explore the most impressive and glimmering part of the cave name Wonderland which is approximately two more hours of cave exploration.

We end the day with a dip in the cool waters of the inland Blue Hole and relish a hearty Belizean meal before heading back to town.
